Suzuki outboard engines from an authorised Suzuki dealer

Ferry Marine is an authorised Suzuki Marine dealer in Livingston, twenty minutes from Edinburgh. We sell the whole Suzuki outboard range new — from the 2.5hp portable to the 350hp DF350A — we fit or check every one ourselves, and service it here.

Ferry Marine - Authorised Suzuki Dealer

Suzuki is the make we fit more than any other. It's a four-stroke-only range with a hard-earned name for starting first time and running for years, and for most of the boats that come through our door, a Suzuki outboard motor is the engine we'd put on the back.

Small Suzuki outboards — 2.5hp, 4hp, 5hp, 6hp, 15hp and 20hp

Suzuki's portables are some of the best small engines made: light enough to lift onto a tender, and built to the same standard as the big ones.

  • DF2.5 — the lightest in the range, for inflatables and yacht tenders.
  • DF4A, DF5A and DF6A — the 4hp, 5hp and 6hp Suzuki outboards share one compact body. The 6hp is the small engine we sell most of: enough to push a loaded tender properly, light enough to carry down a pontoon.
  • DF9.9B, DF15A and DF20A — where Suzuki's fuel injection starts, and all three are quick to start because of it. A 15hp Suzuki outboard is where a small engine starts moving a proper boat rather than a dinghy, and the 20hp Suzuki outboard is a favourite on small ribs and day boats.

We keep the popular Suzukis in stock; anything else is usually with us in a week to ten days. Tiller or remote steering, short or long shaft, mechanical or drive-by-wire controls — tell us the boat and we'll make sure it's the right one. Even a 2.5hp is run and checked before it leaves, and registered for warranty the same day.

New Suzuki outboards for sale,
25hp to 350hp

From 40hp upwards, every Suzuki outboard engine for sale here is supplied fitted — rigged to the boat, not handed over in a crate.

(DF25A to DF40A) Light, fuel-injected and easy on fuel.

50hp to 150hp

Suzuki DF90A 90hp four-stroke outboard engine

(DF50A to DF150) The heart of the range, and where most repowers land. The DF60A, DF70A, DF90A, DF115B and DF140B between them account for more of our fitting work than any other engines.

175hp to 350hp
Suzuki outboards

Suzuki DF200A 200hp four-stroke outboard engine

(DF175A to DF350A) The big four-cylinders and V6s, single or twin. The DF350A runs twin contra-rotating propellers, which puts serious power into the water without a heavy, oversized prop.

Choosing between two sizes is usually the real question — a DF115 or a DF140, a single 300 or a pair of 175s. It depends on the hull's rating, what you carry and how you use the boat, and we'd rather have that conversation than sell you the biggest Suzuki that will bolt on.

Why we fit more Suzukis than anything else

  • Four-stroke only. Suzuki stopped making two-strokes years ago. Every engine in the range is clean, quiet and doesn't need oil mixing.
  • Economy. Suzuki's Lean Burn fuel control, across most of the mid and large range, is where its reputation for low fuel use comes from — and on a boat that does real miles, that's the running cost that matters.
  • Compact and well-balanced. Suzuki's offset driveshaft moves the engine's weight forward, which makes for a shorter, better-balanced motor on the transom and more gear reduction for turning a bigger prop.
  • Built to last. We see Suzukis come back for their tenth service in good order. That's the reason we recommend them, more than anything on a spec sheet.
  • Backed properly. Suzuki GB supports its dealer network well, so warranty claims and technical support go through the proper channels rather than round them.

Suzuki isn't the only good engine, and for some boats it isn't the right one. We also sell and fit Mercury outboard engines, and we'll tell you honestly which suits your boat.

Buying a new Suzuki from Ferry Marine

Five-year warranty, registered on the day

Every new Suzuki we sell for leisure use carries a five-year warranty, and we register it the day the engine is handed over. Commercial operators get two years or 1,000 hours, whichever comes first.

In stock, or with us in a week to ten days

We hold the popular sizes. If yours isn't on the shelf, we order it in.

Fitted in our workshop

Rigged, propped and set up on your boat, with Suzuki's own gauges or a new helm layout if you want one. How we do it is on our engine fitting and repowering page.

Part-exchange

If you're repowering, we may take your old engine against the new Suzuki, depending on its age and condition. If it's past that, we'll dispose of it responsibly.

Serviced where it was fitted

The technicians who rigged your Suzuki service it afterwards, and the service history stays in one place — which matters when you come to sell the boat. See outboard servicing and repair.

Every Suzuki we sell is new, supplied through Suzuki GB.
No grey imports, no used stock.

A Suzuki outboard dealer for central Scotland, and further

If you've searched for a Suzuki outboard dealer near me from anywhere between Glasgow and Edinburgh, we're the workshop in the middle: Livingston, EH54, straight off the M8. Plenty of our Suzuki customers come further — Fife, the west coast, the Borders and the north of England — because a new engine is a job worth driving for.

Running a fleet? Marinas, sailing schools and tour operators already use us as their Suzuki outboard agents, and we'll work round your season rather than ours.

Suzuki questions we get asked

How long is the warranty on a new Suzuki outboard?

Five years for leisure use, registered by us on the day you collect. Commercial use is two years or 1,000 hours, whichever comes first.

Can I buy a Suzuki from you and fit it myself?

For the small portables, yes — but as the dealer, we have to check the fitting before the warranty can be registered. That's the pre-delivery inspection (PDI): we'll set the engine up, check it over and show you how it goes on. From 40hp upwards we supply Suzukis fitted, because that's how they end up rigged and propped properly.

Will you fit a Suzuki I bought somewhere else?

No — we fit the engines we sell. But we'll service and repair any Suzuki, wherever it came from.

Do you have my size in stock?

Probably, if it's a popular one. Phone us and we'll tell you straight away; if not, it's usually a week to ten days.

Tell us the boat — make, length, what's on the back of it now, and how you use it — and the Suzuki you have in mind, if you've got one. We'll come back with what we'd fit and what it costs.
